Politics

So many people around the world know that US has held their elections.

At the same day, Puerto Rico holds elections for the governor. You know, I still remember when I was little, that my dream job was to be governor. I get to argue with people, and make important decisions and actually get paid for it. Even now I'm very passionate about politics, and it starts getting more personal once it gets to things I really care about. So I wanted to share my status post that I had put in my facebook page:

" a little over 50% voted to be the 51st state, but that doesn't change anything.
i think some people have been making this much bigger than what it is. for example, Puerto Rico is only an interest to US as a military base within the caribbean since florida is too far away, and because there is a huge satellite that can be used to monitor the skies for military reasons again, though in Puerto Rico
it is mostly used also for scientific reasons. I went to this thing and its so huge you can't even see the end of the mountain.
US already has access to these things, so becoming a 51st state doesn't really mean much to them.

It's like, why would I pay for the bread if I already get it for free?

second, people are very passionate about politics, and these discussions are also very personal! The whole island takes the day off for voting and because the speeches get heated. I mean, people start fighting over these things. So the way politic are carried out are different. Even if people vote, the decision is for the US congress to make.

third, and this is my personal opinion,
i don't want us to become a second hawaii, and i don't want us to become like the native americans in US. I don't care when people say "puerto ricans are second-citizens" because I don't see myself. My US citizenshipis only a paper. If I so happen to agree more with society in Denmark or something, I don't mind changing my citizenship.

I think we've already learned from what Hawaii went through, and what Phillipines went through. US is more interested in military matters, not domestic issues and adding people to their babysitting list.

Have you ever asked yourself or ever wondered to look why US has so many military bases around the world?

Maybe I am rambling, but sometimes we have to ask ourselves serious questions!

This is how I truly feel, and sometimes I just wonder if other people really have wondered and bothered to research about all the locations of US military bases around the world. It makes me wonder what are their intentions. I mean, they should be more focused with their own domestic issues.

But on a less serious note, please check out my main home page. I've updated a bit on the dramas I'm watching right now. So far I still have to talk about other dramas that I've already finished watching. I think I didn't write about them before just cuz I was plain lazy. So yea! :D If you like talking about asian dramas, or just any movies you think are awesome then I'm the person to talk to and get crazy with. XD
