So it is now summer time. YES!!!!!! I have finished with my first year at Depaul and imagine!, I have so much shit to say. Hahahaha.
First of, their administration system and what I call customer service for students is utterly shitty. When you ask for help in one office, they direct you to another office. Then in office B, they direct you to office C. By the time you explain your situation in office C for the third time, they tell you that what you're asking for is not within their jurisdiction and is actually something that your student advisor has the power to do. Which is what you have asked your advisor before doing this whole crap. So that tells you! See see!?!?!?!?!?!!!
I have met 1 person within my college who does the things I need to be done. But that was after countless appointments and going through a mess of people and asking, who can do this for me?! I honestly feel that alot of that universities workers are students who are just pretty receptionists and secretaries that do busy work. Let me remind you: all the employees work till 5pm. So if you are a commuter student like me (1 hour commute), there's not much time to go to offices and be your own secratary. Either you miss part of a class, or you don't show up.
So I'm glad I finished the first year there. I have planned out all that i need to do to finish and get the fuck out of there, and move to Japan to do my masters.
I have to plan for that now more detaildly, and choose a university to do that in. But for now I am finishing 2 classes for my general education at the community college that I attended before going to Deaul. I love the college, and feel encouraged to do well in my classes. Right now I'm talking a chemistry class, and a general art history-ish class. The chemistry is the major class that I put my focus in, since I suck at chemistry, physics, etc.. xD And the art class, for that you don't do any drawing or shit like that. It's mostly learning terms, different mediums (like oil painting with examples from a few artists), and specific works of art (and who did it, and what was happening at the time). So it's really no big deal.
Speaking of futures, I think alot of people who are studying Japanese eventually learn about the JET program. I just learned it as something that people go through to be english teachers in Japan, so I was never really interested. I don't really want to teach kids English as a main job. That doesn't really lead me to what I want to do. Plus I'm not very good with mini peoples....I always have to work on my shyness.
But now that the subject came up, I looked more into it and learned you can be a CIR, which is not a teaching job. You are required to know Japanese and use it within work (which is what I'm aiming for), and the job description can very depending on your position. On top of that, I just finished taking my motorcycle driving exam this Wednesday, and I finally got my drivers license changed so that it says I can drive any type of motorcycle. Wuuuuuu!
Omgosh I had to wake up at 4:30 in the morning just to arrive at this place, AND I still had my chemistry and art class too! At the end of the day, I was really exhausted but now I can say that I passed the test and got my license. ^^
In more news, Brave (movie) just came out yesterday. I'm going to watch it today around 15:00. I think I deserve a break from learning about atoms and elements and all that shit that I'm just going to forget after the class ends. :P I hope it's a good movie. Pixar tends to do good ones anyway.
